Advice Please!
My 18 month old has been hitting me in the face a lot lately when she doesnt get her way, and screams at the top of her lungs. Idk what the best way to discipline her is because she's so little. I always tell her "no hitting" and she has "nice hands". Any other mama's deal with this? What is most effective?
yes but in that since she will see "hey I don't like it so obviously mommy doesn't like it" .
I smacked her had and always used a firm voice. after a couple days she never did it again. and yes there is always timeout
i smack/flick her hand when she touches things she's not supposed to. I don't think it's cruel. But in that instance I don't like that I'm "hitting" her and telling her not to hit.
My son did this. I tried time outs and spankings... nothing worked. We went through this stage for a few months and then he would stop and then we would hit another terrible episode. The older he got the more we started punishing by taking his favorite things away when he was bad. It's worked well as he is getting older
I sit my son on the bench and he has to sit still and quietly for 3 minutes before he can get off. It's hard when they are younger but just be consistent with telling her no hitting and when she hits you take her hands and put them to her side (softly) and tell her no hitting. eventually she'll get it
honestly if my 18 month old step daughter did it I'd pop her butt and stick her in time out.... however this is the time they have to start learning right and wrong... it sternly tell her no I've tapped the hand and said no before to. they need to learn what that is it might take a while, but don't allow her on your lap after she does it. I'd ignore her if she throws a bigger fit but don't react negatively or in a hostile manner.
some people might find this cruel but it worked, I slapped my daughter's hand when she did it to me, (not to hard) but after a coupl days she stopped and has never done it again. but if you do it like i said not to hard but enough to get your point across and follow it by a "don't hit" or something . because it's not okay to hit .

My August baby decided she wanted to be a May baby like her big sister. Madison Noelle was born on Tuesday, May 24 at 3:50pm, weighing 2lbs, 13oz and 14". She was born at 27 weeks and has a long road ahead of her. Every day she has been getting stronger and amazing everyone. Please keep us in your prayers, my family and I have a long road ahead of us. Congratulations to everyone and I wish you all wonderful pregnancies and deliveries! ??❤️
Okay, so this is kind of urgent. My daughter has been doing this for a few months... Every time she gets upset, she hits her head on things like the floor, tables, shelves, etc... I've tried EVERYTHING and she won't stop. She's even bruised her head plenty of times hitting her head on things. I don't know what to do. Can someone give me some kind of advice? I want her to stop..
P.S. Don't mom bash me for this. I've never done what she's been doing. I don't wanna hear any judgement. If you have ...
I worked at a daycare & we told them no thank you, that's no okay. or no thank you, that's not nice. Something along those lines. and take their hands and rub one on top of the other and say nice hands.
