I've seen people complaining about Wic classes not talking about formula and just breast feeding but I don't understand why they have an issue? I mean you do know what Wic is for right? it's not just to give you Free food ?
my son was FF so no it's not because I believe in BF only . it's a post I seen where the mom is mad that she told me she wants formula (her baby isn't born yet) and they told her wic isn't just to come get free formula . even when you do switch to formula which I did they ask you WHY. and first try to solve your problem. Wic is NOT even allowed to recommend a formula.
@kandielion101, lol I didn't see your post was it recent? and no my wic does formula too but that's not wics main goal their main goal is to get you and baby to breast feed but if you can't they do understand but their not gunu discuss something their not for. like my pp their not even allowed as a policy to recommend a formula for us and I can understand not being able to breast feed I couldn't breast feed my son because he was premature and had a weight gain issue so I understand how it can make us feel bad but we can't get mad when that's what they believe in that's like going to a meeting for a certain weight loss pill and being upset because they didn't talk about another weight loss option besides the one they believe in u know? but like u said that's my opinion :)
@alynna9684, yeah but their also not allowed to recommend a formula either. my son couldn't breast feed because he had to be on a preemie weight gain in the beginning then when I could BF I had to stop because I'm high risk and it could cause preterm labor I was so sad but I talked to them and asked which formula is better for my baby and she told me it's against their policies to recommend a formula to us. their main goal is to get us to breast feed but when theirs not another option then they understand it's just crazy to me that they complain about something free.
I kinda did a post like that but the reason it bothered me was because there was so much false propaganda about formula feeding in there. And I believe you should talk about them both incase a situation comes up to were you can't breastfeed. Like low milk supply, your milk hasn't come, or the baby just doesn't want to take to the breast. My wic does do formula, and some people even though they may support it or not breastfeeding may not be for them. It takes lots of patience and it gets frustrating and it doesn't help when it's being so forcefully pushed onto you. That's my opinion.
I think it's amazing how they prefer women to breastfeed because it does benefit the baby with the best nutrients. some women are just ungrateful with the help they do give us women.
