a nice thermometer! One that is specified for babies. Its never thought of, but much needed.

socks, first aid/hygiene kit, soaps, lotions, clothes, diaper bag, towels/wash cloths, bath tub, burp cloths, swaddling blankets

first aid kit and a well grooming kit. those were the things I was most thankful for.

wipes can be used from a quick clean up, diaper changes and everything and will be used all the way through baby being in a diaper so honestly a high quantity on them is reasonable. Maybe 2 boxes of newborn diapers, a few ones and a box of twos for a headstart.
