the reason baby food or anything solid is pushed to 6 mths is because the babies stomach lining isn't exactly closed and food given before then can create open gut that may cause long term intestinal issues that may not become apparent until later in life.

Yeah the WIC office pushed cereal and baby food up to 6 months I was just curious if anyone started before then my daughter started baby food at 5 months and my son will be 5 months soon so I may try and see how he does..thanks ladies! 😊 @kibella22 @ilyric @wyatts_mommy_0106 @mrsdelg @ciaramarie @madelynnb

we did 5 months

4 months I started baby food&cereal;

4 months for puréed food, 6 months for table food. I waited until he could sit up in the high chair and watched is eat and mimicked us eating.

3&1/2 months I started my son on baby food and at 7 months he started on table foods

6 mths baby food (veggies), 8 mths he began eating what we ate (peas, mashed potatoes, etc. non junk food)

6 months and all the waiting paid off Bc she eats it all and loves it and I feel she kind of gets the concept of eating now.
