yeah I'm a medical assistant I studied about it as well but its different once it's happening to you lol. plus I'm in cardiology so we don't deal with a lot of that kind of stuff. I'm sure it'll get better once he's here I'm hoping anyway! :).

Some women have low iron before pregnancy and some developed it during. Every women is different but the symptoms are the same pretty much and vary depending on how low your iron is and usually people with low iron are anemic. I'm a pharmacy technician so I had to learn about all the medical conditions and also my OB told me I was because I asked to be tested when my iron came back low even tho I eat chicken livers and other foods with lots of iron. He said once I have my daugher and I'm only have to provide nutrients for one body instead of two I'll no longer need iron pulls and my levels will remain normal. My iron was perfect on Monday when they tested me but it's nothing to worry about. It's not uncommon and doesn't mean anything is wrong. @carolinamom91 @zachsbabygurl

headache, nausea dizziness

@lizzyamcmahan, I really hope my levels go up to normal very soon! my doctor told me last week if they don't I'll have to have a blood transfusion during my c section and I don't want that! I had one when I was pregnant with my son. I seem to be dizzy a lot lately and I'm always exhausted

I get dizzy standing up and I get tired and wore out a lot easier I never craved ice or anything but every time they take my blood my iron has been low they put me on slowfe once a day but my iron is still low

I'm getting short of breath walking around wal mart. I was much more active prior to pregnancy. I have cold sweats and hot flashes. I will be burning up and freezing all at once. I love crushed ice. I haven't been told I was anemic so far.

@bentley_mommy, I had low iron when i was pregnant with my son in 2010 and had to take iron just once a day but I never had symptoms other than tired and it was never this low or this bad. the symptoms make me freak out and my anxiety kicks in and takes over. glad its not just me though makes me feel.a lot better!

well that was before I found out I was pregnant my doctor hasn't checked my iron I only just found out on Christmas I was pregnant only have had 3 apps @bentley_mommy

Your anemia may go away. My doctor told me once I have my daugher I won't need to take my iron pills anymore but if I come back at my 6 week check up and my iron is low he's gonna suggest I take them again. It's something that's not uncommon during pregnant and the craving ice is actually called Pica. It's something else that occurs during pregnancy and will go away after having the baby. I would walk up a flight of steps and be completely winded....when before my pregnancy I was a runner.

@bentley_mommy, I crave ice as well! I could eat it all day like I HAVE to have it! My blood work came back severely anemic so he put me on iron prescription 3x a day. I just started it a few days ago so its probably not working yet but I can't wait until it does! I hate feeling dizzy and exhausted all the time :( I feel so emotional because of this !

I started to crave ice and my doctor tested me turns out I was in fact anemic which means you have low iron. I will get hot randomly and I'll be sweating but my body will be freezing, if I get too hot I get hot flashes, I'll also be extra tired. I take iron pills now. It took about a month for them to really start working. @carolinamom91
