Moms, We've had a lot of interest in creating a new domestic violence group chat. If you're a survivor who wants to help, if you think you may be in an abusive relationship or if you just want more tips about these kind of relationships, please message @smilingwithmyawesome4kids. She will be leading this group. Or you can leave a reply in the comments below and she'll add you to the group. Thank you @smilingwithmyawesome4kids for leading this group. Best, mom.life_usa
#momlifegroups Moms, Postpartum depression is nothing to be ashamed about. Did you know it affects about about 10 to 15 % of all women? @Heera is leading a group chat for moms who may be going through PPD, who want to talk to other moms who have gone through PPD, who can help others going though it or just want to talk about possible symptoms of PPD. If you're interested in joining, please message @Heera. This does not replace seeking professional medical attention but it's a great way to chat with other moms who understand. Thank you so much @Heera! Best, mom.life_usa
Breastfeeding information and tips This is a post I've made to help women who are thinking of breastfeeding, or are breastfeeding and may have some questions about breastfeeding. It is also aimed to help women who may be experiencing problems with breastfeeding and may need to know how to deal with these problems because most breastfeeding problems can be sorted.
Hi Preggies, We've had some requests from moms who are going through difficult emotional times, before, during and after pregnancy. Some of you may be feeling alone, sad and anxious in an already challenging time. Some members would like to create a group where they can support each other and stay positive when it seems nearly impossible. Anyone interested in joining this group would comment here and then follow those women. Then you can look out for each other and send positive words of encouragement or just lend an open ear. One or two of you could also lead the group as well. Also, if anyone has a counseling background or would like to help out, please join, too. However, if you are feeling completely desperate and have nobody to turn to, please call 911 or another local hotline for help. Best, Preggie_USA
Moms, Domestic violence is not something to be ashamed about. 1 in 4 women are victims of domestic violence. Domestic violence is the willful intimidation, physical assault, battery, sexual assault, and/or other abusive behavior as part of a systematic pattern of power and control perpetrated by one intimate partner against another. It includes physical violence, sexual violence, psychological violence, and emotional abuse. The frequency and severity of domestic violence can vary dramatically; however, the one constant component of domestic violence is one partner’s consistent efforts to maintain power and control over the other. Domestic violence is an epidemic affecting individuals in every community, regardless of age, economic status, sexual orientation, gender, race, religion, or nationality. It is often accompanied by emotionally abusive and controlling behavior that is only a fraction of a systematic pattern of dominance and control. Domestic violence can result in physical injury, psychological trauma, and in severe cases, even death. The devastating physical, emotional, and psychological consequences of domestic violence can cross generations and last a lifetime. If you or someone you know may be in an abusive relationship, here is the national domestic violence hotline: 1 800 799 7233; www.Thehotline.org. Do not blame yourself. Also, if you need someone to talk to, please message us. Best, mom.life_USA
