feeling discouraged.... this is day 2 home with my son and this breastfeeding thing is getting to me... my breasts are so engorged last night and today that he wouldnt latch. or he would suck a few times and then stop and cry...for both sides... i massaged them and pumped some out but He's still not latching. now im sitting here in tears in pain feeling quitting but in really want to do this for my baby. any breastfeeding moms have suggestions?
They may be to engorged for him to latch .. Try a shower or pump first just to get some of the hardness out
Heat! then pump, or take a hot shower and hand press. maybe try a nipple shield until baby latches good? that's what I did. It really sucks at first, but don't give up! it'll be so worth it, and it gets better!
Same thing happened to me & I regretted giving up. Pump till you're soft. Or hand express. Bottle fed that feeding. Try the breast next go round. My two cents. Best of luck!
He's still learning. Just try keeping him at breast when you can. And maybe hand express or pump fur a couple minutes to take the edge off?? Don't let this mess with your decision to breastfeed. You can do it!! You can also ask to see the hospital's lactation consultant to see if she can offer any assistance. Good luck momma!
Engorgement is a pain, but what really helped me was a putting a hot towel on my breasts or taking a hot shower where the water could hit them. It helped so much!
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Science!
My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?
Starting TWW. Anyone else?
I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.
I'm late but, call your lactation nurse...she should have suggestions. Nipple shields definitely help, my son doesn't latch on "correctly". Another option is to exclusively pump and bottle feed. I hope it all works out, don't give up.
