I'm really going to stay focused on breastfeeding no matter how many bad things I hear or how hard it is but I'm trying to get an understanding of it though. Do you pump your breast before you feed or does the baby just drink when he or she is ready. Is there any type of preparation or what ????

the baby is supposed to naturally latch on Ur breast , and if not u can use a breast pumper

the pump is pretty much for extra milk on the side or the baby has an issue with latching. I'm going to breast feed and I am going to use the pump for when I'm at work and my fiance is at home with the baby.

there should be a lactation specialist to help you to get the baby to latch on. But you just feed the Baby as he/she is hungry.

Don't listen to the negative feedback! That's only mothers who tried & failed. It's the healthiest and most natural way, and if your body allows it go for it girl. I'm going to try breast feeding too!

and it burns calories :) I am going to try and breast feed my little baby because I think it's the best for her.

I've been told it hurts for a week or 2 but your nipples toughen up and it'll stop hurting. unless the latching doesn't ever happen correctly. I was told to use a wash cloth after showers and rub it on your nipples to kind of toughen them up a bit.

I've heard it hurts for about a week or two. And if they are having trouble latching on you can use a nipple shield, it pulls your nipple up and away from your breast a little to help the baby grab hold of it

@chinadoll_nuk, your baby will latch on naturally. just make sure that al or most of your areola is in the baby's mouth. that is what leads to painful feeding. if baby isn't hungry then pump and store. make sure to drink lots of water because that helps with production. use nipple cream to avoid cracking (kind of like a vaseline). I breastfed my daughter until one and then she would nurse at night for comfort until sure was two. great job I choosing the healthiest nourishment for your baby!!
