im a Ftm my little guy is 2.5 weeks old. his pediatrician already switched him to formula that has added rice in it so that he stops eating so much so often but he still wants to eat 4 oz at least every 3 hours when hes only supposed to eat 1.5-2oz every 3 hours....advice?

my son is 4 months old and drinks 8 Oz every 3-4 hours, I'm not saying give him that much but he sounds like he's not getting full. we had him on enfamil a&r and it didn't help at that age we then put him on gentlease and it's been great ever since.
What formula do you feed him if you don't mind me asking?
@andrrea, he gets up every 2 hours and wants to eat so i have to hold him while he cries for an hour till i can feed him cause he always gets sick when i feed him early im just trying to figure out a way to make him more full faster but i dont really want to add anymore rice to his formula
My pediatrician told me she could eat as much as she wants (she was 5lbs at birth also) but of baby is still hungry then you have to feed him. You know your child best. Mine has been sinking 3-4 oz since she was born, up to 5 a few days ago.
ahh gotcha that's very hard to just let your baby cry when he wants to eat but better safe than sorry.
@chocolatechild, i don't feed him every time hes hungry cause he makes himself sick which is why the doctor said to make sure not to feed him tgat much
my pediatrician always told me let them eat however much they want. unless they start to spit up then stop them at about four ounces and switch to pacifier
@morganmomma, well he went through one can of formula in two days, and if i let him eat as much as he wants hed probably eat six ounces ha
every baby is different. My baby is just as greedy (at 3 weeks). Seems like the only time she isn't eating is when she's sleep. I don't think there's much u can do to control their eating until they get older than 3 months.
my son was the same way it's normal they usually do eat more than what the pediatrician says anyways
it's for gassy babies, we had him on a & r cause he was spitting up a lot and it would help but then he got really gassy so we switched. when he was two weeks old he was eating 3 Oz every 2 hours it was rough because he was up every two hours at night I know how you feel. When he turned 4 weeks old we upped it 4 Oz and he would wait a good 3 1/2 hours to eat again.
