I'm interested in Paragard IUD as it's hormone free and lasts up to 10 years. I was on Nuvaring for years and it was very effective.

is your husband in the least bit open to a vasectomy? my husband did it 15 years ago in his first marriage and he said it was very mild discomfort for a couple days. way less invasive and safer for him than surgery for you.and youbarent pumping your body with hormones. its affordable and the procedure is even better now than it was then. BTW, We had a reversal done to get pregnant and it was sucessful!! woohooo

@sarahemccormick, my daughter has the implant and she has a lot of bleeding on and off. She constantly complains about her stomach hurting. I've taken her in to see her doctor for it and they say it can be a normal side effect. I wouldn't recommend it.

I had the implanon in my arm. similar to Paraguard except the amount of time it lasts and I was put in the hospital due to extremely high blood pressure less than a week after I got it. they kept me for 3 days to monitor me after taking it out because my BP was rediculous and they couldn't get it to come down. I can't take Bc it all does me really bad. makes me crazy, sick, causes extreme bleeding ect. so I have no luck anyways...

I had the Nuva ring for 2 years and LOVED it. it's actually more effective than the pills and you don't really notice it's there. I also didn't have any crazy side effects, and you can control your period with it. like make your period come one week earlier or later if you needed. and your period becomes very reliable. I could track my period a year ahead of time with it and as long as I didn't change which week its supposed to come, I was spot on every time.

@sarahemccormick, you and I have a lot in common! I also am a married mom of 4 with panic attacks and anxiety disorder. I've been on meds for almost 20 years. I had my husband get a vasectomy when I was 6 months pregnant with our 4th baby born in October 2015. Then I told him he couldn't touch me until he went back for his follow-up and got his sperm count checked. 😂😂😂. I was like you...our oldest will be starting 9th, another will start 8th, then we have the 19 month and the 4 month olds. The factory is closed, and I'm not gaining any more weight or having anything implanted in me. It was his turn. LOL

I had the implanon, and I'll admit it took a few months for my body to adjust.. hormones were all over the place, husband wanted me to take it out.. but I got through it and then I was fine until I wanted it out. I actually loved the fact that I didn't have a period every month. . usually on 3 a year for me.

I'm getting the arm implant. I know multiple girls who have it and LOVE it and of course no issues at all :)
