There's a reason they are called an "X". They are supposed to be "X'ed" out of your life. He chose to make a new life with you when he split with his ex, that means letting go of everything of your ex's. I'll be damned if I caught my hubby talking to his ex, her family, or her friends.

I don't see why that's an issue, my husband is still in contact with one of his ex girlfriends mothers and little brother because they were super close, in a relationship you need trust.
