So last night around 11pm I started having contractions, but they wernt painful or regular so I just drank a lot of water and laid on my side to try to get them to stop (it usually works.) at 1 they started getting pretty uncomfortable, so at two AM I called my doctor. He had me time contractions for a few hours, and I called back at four to tell him they were not regular, but they were frequent. They were 2 minutes apart, then seven, then four, then ten, ect. I had also checked my cervix and could swear I was dilated. So doc had me come in. This was four am, it's four pm now, and they STILL have not managed to stop the contractions. They're keeping me overnight to give me the second dose of the lung steroid tomorrow morning, but they had also expected contractions to stop by now with all the iv's and meds they've given me. The contractions ARE NOT painful, but they are 1-2 minutes apart. Anyone have any idea what this means for baby??

@eev, if your contractions don't stop then they will be forced to deliver since that is the only other way to stop them. But that would be the last option. They will try several different medicines to get your contractions to stop before they will deliver that baby. They want you to stay pregnant as much as you do.

I'm hoping I can hold her for at least two more weeks, but the fact that they can't seem to get the contractions under control is really scaring me. What do you think they're going to do? Do you think they'll deliver her? /:

If your baby is born @eev they are gone want to keep him on steroids for lung growth and check for any other complications. I doubt you will be able to take him home at first but his chances of surviving is better than If you were 28 weeks or less.

Also, I was right about being dilated, I'm at one and a half cm (two days ago I was checked and was COMPLETELY closed.)

My triplets were born via emergency c-section.... on Monday I had an appt with my ob at 6pm and he said I was still 2cm dilated, then I went home and was having servere pain that came and go and would wake me up from sleep, they were coming from 2 to 17 min apart, and I couldn't walk, and I had an extreme urge to pee, and that was new, so my mom came and took me to the hospital, and they hooked me and the babies up to the monitors and I wasn't contracting as much as I had thought, come to find out when they checked me that I was 4 cm and baby a's foot was coming through my cervix, so that was causing the pain... they called my ob and got a team ready to deliver my babies... they were born at 1:07, 1:08, 1:09 am on Tuesday morning

I don't know whats going on with little Ryder tonight but I am beyond miserable. Earlier today I was standing by the door looking outside when I got a sharp pain in my lower back (left side) and what felt like I was leaking (maybe the size of a quarter) but it was not urine. Then came a lot of pressure round my pelvic area and contractions that were close then far apart, then they just stopped but i still had a little pressure. Ryder was moving around a good bit and i had this jittery feeling. And about an hour ago I was trying to crochet and then the contractions started again and still was everywhere in terms of how far apart. Any idea ladies? I am calling my obgyn in the morning to let her know what was going on just in case she wants me to come in earlier that Tuesday. I live around an hour from the hospital so I absolutely didn't want to make a trip if I didn't have to and since the contractions was happening on and off at odd times I wanted to wait. I just didn't know what to do exactly because i didnt have pains like this or Braxton-Hicks(not saying for sure what these contractions are) contractions with my other pregnancies so this was kinda new for me. Advice and thoughts are welcome!
