So idk if I’m an asshole for thinking this but a girl I used to go to school with is having her 3rd kid and she’s planning a baby shower and she had one with her other two. I feel like a baby shower is something you do with ur first pregnancy. I live far from my family so I didn’t have one but i did have a baby registry and I’m not even doing that with this pregnancy. Idk I just feel like 3 baby showers is a lot! Especially when she gets things handed to her. Idk maybe I’m an ass for thinking that
I really thought I was getting a baby shower and like no one has even thought about giving me one. This is my first baby i mean no one has to do anything for me I just at least thought they had plans for me and they don’t. They gave my uncle one because his wife didn’t want one because she already had a kid.And everyone got a baby shower and was giving one .But I guess it’s okay. I’ll do my own baby shower with my next child I just thought family planned a baby shower for you . Lol guess I thought wrong.
What would you do? - baby shower SO my mom has been very negative about the baby my entire pregnancy. Especially in the beginning, she said the most HORRIBLE things about me, my DH and my unborn baby. Like that I was making a big mistake, that I was making her 2015 the worst year ever... etc etc. Even when she would do nice things she made me feel like I was a HUGE inconvenience and a burden to her. She told me to definitely NOT expect a shower or anything like that from her. Fine, whatever, I don't need her, I didn't have this baby for her to raise. I'm married, living on my own and paying all my own expenses.

I know what you mean. I planned my baby shower by myself with no help and my husbands didn't even go it was only my family. so my side of the family and I spent money on a party for 15 people maybe not even that many.

Wear your dress you bought! It's your shower yeah they planned it for you but why are you going to match with the other girls if you're the mother to be!

I'd still wear the dress. That's something you'll have to put your foot down on. Just because they're planning it doesn't mean you have to do everything they say. If you have to lie and say you can't return it and would like to wear it and not match other people. I won't even let me mom, mil, or so's sister wear the same color as me let alone legit matching. It's your day to stick out!
