TTC & starting to take Metformin. I know I've asked this before, but has anyone (preferably with PCOS) taking this and achieved pregnancy? also, what side effects should I expect while taking this.

I never had any luck with metformin but I know others that did. Clomid didn't work either. Only thing that helped me conceive was weight loss. After six years of trying and losing 100lbs I got pregnant. Im now 18w3d.
I also have PCOS. I haven't tried metformin but I go to the doctor tomorrow for some Clomid to help me ovulate. I have heart awesome things about metformin. a lot of people conceive on the first try! 👶 dust!
yikes! I guess using the bathroom happens with everyone who takes it. I'll all for the losing weight though lol.
how often do you check you're insulin to make sure it's not too low from the pills @bundl3ofjoy25

I don't have PCOS but my Dr put me on it anyway because she wanted my glucose levels much lower than I had. If I wasn't trying to get pregnant I would t have been on Metformin. I'm 16 weeks today. I had very bad side effects taking it. I threw up if I took the 3 doses per day as she had initially prescribed. I had to only take 1 a day in order for me to tolerate. Drink plenty of water and be sure to eat prior to taking it. At least for me I had to. Good luck!!
@double_mommy, oh okay they didn't give me a certain time to take it, I've read somewhere it's better to take it at night time idk how true that is
it was only after I'd eaten. I was supposed to take it with meals. they took me off it though and now I'm on 2 types of insulin, a diet, and I SBR to send blood sugar levels in every week
The only thing I have experience is the normal mood swings, and normal cycle symptoms like bloating and cramping when I ovulated ... Nothing bad

Oh wow! was it constant or just after you took the pill? @double_mommy my insulin is twice what it should be so my OBGYN said taking these pills would lower it and achieve pregnancy

I was taking metformin to lower my blood sugar cause I have diabetes and it gave me the runs. everything I ate. no solid bm at all
