Does anyone know how to get help with formula. Wic doesn't help with gerber good start which my son is on. He's tried some others and they mess him up. Gerber is the only one that has seemed to help him the best. Thanks!
no problem don't let that wic office fool you because I know mines here are full with attitude and people unwilling to help @britdh29
yes she was a preemie as well so her doctor plus the nicu unit doctors wrote a prescription for her milk and etc . and I took it to my local wic office @britdh29
@motheroftwojk, what did you do? Tell the doctor wic doesn't cover it and they wrote a prescription and you took it to the wic office?
have your doctor write a prescription for it I had to get my daughters doctor to do the same especially with
her milk since she was a preemie and wic had no choice but to write it out and make it available for me... they were pretty upset but hey who cares
Oh. Maybe that's why. Have you tried the Enfamil gentlease? It's the equivalent of the Gerber soothe. If he does OK with that formula then all you have to do is tell wic you want him on the gentlease and they'll give you assistance for it. Otherwise I'm not sure what else you can do
That's weird. I know they will cover Gerber soy if you have a Dr note. I guess they might not if it isn't the soy one. You've tried the Enfamil that wic offers and none of them work?
@supermom1104, @embersandash I had the doctor write a note and the wic office just called and said they don't cover gerber...
@babygirl101 I will give the doctor another call then. Did they just write you a prescription and you took it to the pharmacy?
If you have a note from the Dr they will help pay for formula brands they don't normally cover
if u get a note from your Dr saying that's what's best for your baby I'm pretty sure wic has to help with it
When I first started wic they told me they only had similac advanced with iron and Gerber good start so I thought that I was only able to get those two. The similac advanced was making her constipated so her pediatrician wrote her a prescription for similac no spit up and I was able to get it. You should try getting a prescription from the doctor.
@britdh29, You may have to go in there because calling will not get you nowhere. I personally know because I called the WIC office to let them know that I could not drink skim or 1% milk and then told them that I had a prescription and they told me it was nothing they could do..I went into the office and they had no other choice but to change it.
