I don't care who in my family gets mad. For the first two weeks, only me and my boyfriend and like two other people will hold my baby. I don't want my baby to think it needs held 24/7. And I actually want my baby to actually sleep in its own crib instead of our bed.

that's pretty much what I did too. 😂

@their.bomb.ass.mom, my moms gonna get mad but I don't care. Babies don't need help all the time. Plus say someone holds it and they aren't in my child's life that long, they shouldn't even be lucky enough to have held my child.

I was constantly telling people to put my baby down. and by people, I mean one family member 😂😂 that was super annoying, and she would hold her for like 4-5 hours at a time. then for the next 2-3 days I had to deal with her being super duper fussy wanting to be held 24/7. so I cut that out real quick. gotta do what you gotta do though, and other people have to respect that!

@their.bomb.ass.mom, I babysat a baby that was like that, it's annoying. I'll hold my baby by all means. But not 24/7. Moms have things they need to accomplish everyday too

If you hold your baby a lot it doesn't mean it won't sleep in its crib. My son gets a lot of love and attention and has slept through the night for 7-12 hours straight at night since he was 5 weeks old. Lots of attention and love makes them exhausted. :)

@alyen2, I also feel like if you hold your baby for hours and hours it feels the need to be held.

I didn't have family around but the hospital staff ruined my baby lol they would not put her down she barely touched that bassinet she was held or on the boob I regretted it too

I don't feel that way at all. My son loves being held a lot but is fine if you put him down to get things done. But if you do feel that way that's fine. Just isn't true with all babies. Can't spoil a baby!

@mommyagain, I would so regret that. I mean I'll still hold my baby and love on it. But it doesn't need to get fussy every time it's put down

@lbedell95, exactly I understand! She's 11 months and still I have problems getting her to sleep in her bed full time and with a newborn on the way that's going to be a problem with breastfeeding
Lauren·

@mommyagain, exactly. You don't need to hold your baby all the time. Yes , you can hold you baby. But why can't it sit in a swing or a bouncer at the same time? When you're trying to make dinner for your family it can be in one of those so you don't have to constantly be holding it. I'll be going back to college shortly and I don't need to hold my child 24/7

@lbedell95, You're so correct with everything you're saying because I have to one hand my house work dinner laundry everything because she is spoiled and I try to sit her down and she go off like a siren until someone picks her up and it's frustrating BUT I WILL NOT LET HAPPEN THIS THIS SECOND TIME AROUND!

@mommyagain, exactly how I don't want it to be. I mean if I didn't have a job and was a stay at home mom I wouldn't care. But things are different

@lbedell95, Right! I agree with you

You do know that the first 3 months after birth is called the 4th trimester, right? Newborns don't understand not having closeness, they've just spent 9 months being close to you and they are vulnerable and need to know that your there when they need you. There is no way to spoil an infant that doesn't know things like we do.

@ilyric, there's a huge difference in holding your child like you should and holding it all the time and never putting it down

and if you have a colicky child?
Lauren·

@ilyric, if you're just gonna argue with me you can go away. I'll still not hold my child 24/7 no matter anyone's opinion.

Not arguing, just asking a question. You raise your child how you want, I'll raise mine as I do. Just know later on, there may be regrets. it's alum party of learning and growing as a parent with each child.
