I have a really old car seat. It was made in 2009 do I need a new one or would I be able to use it? First time mom so not sure about that kinda stuff
@ajm326, sorry, I misunderstood your comment, you just said all seats. so I wanted to make sure she new it wasn't all seats.
Good thing to know. I could be delivering at 37 weeks so it's time to get on the roll lol
Not car seats that were made in 2009. Car seats that last 10 years are the newer car seats on the market. @alauraandabdielsmom I am a certified car seat tech and know a think or two about this.
@kaylabatista, @ajm326 That's not true. car seats all have their own sets of expiration dates. there are certain seats on the market with a 10 year expiration date @mia96 Yes if it's expired you will need a new seat, it's unsafe to use an expired sear and can fail in a crash😊
If it's been in the AC it isn fine until the expiration date. But if it has been in he garage, staying more hot than cool... I would suggest getting a new one. Staying hot is what makes them not durable anymore. @mia96
Car seats expire after 6 years. You need to get a new one, it isn't up to the current safety standards.
there should be an expiration date on it somewhere. usually you aren't supposed to use them past that date, but I know people that do. but it sounds like you'll need a new one if it was that far back.
@dgallagher, Again, that's only true for certain seats😊
