I've been working retail and hours are horrible there. Barely making ends meet. I'm a nursing student looking to get some sort of job in the medical field (even if it's a receptionist) but everywhere I apply wants experience! 😫 how can I gain experience if you won't even give me a chance?! Ugh!
I'm trying so hard. I've applied for unit secretary positions, patient registration representative, and patient sitter positions but no call back. I'm not a cna, sadly. I don't have the time or money at the moment to get certified between school and taking care of my son. :/
@jessicar1105, sorry late reply.. hmm i worked retail too and hated it but there are other jobs out there. I also worked as a behavioral therapist for kids with developmental disabilities. sometimes u need a degree for that sometimes u dont. I also worked with developmentally disabled adults. Maybe you can look up jobs as a private caregiver? u r in nursing school and although you don't have certification maybe you can find private duty? actually a lot of people in my hospital work in other departments while in school (transport, cafeteria/dietary,etc). dont beat yourself up looking for a specific patient one-on-one job, all u need is to get your foot in the door somewhere and it helps.
