So my doctor said I should start planning out my "birth plan" such as if I'm doing vaginal or I want a c-section. Also if I'm doing vaginal, do I want an epidural or not. I'm so undecided. 😟Anyone do it vaginal with no epidural? How bad is it?! And I was told if you get a c-section you are limited to 4 kids because it's unsafe to cut you open in the same area that many times.. (I'm not sure how many kids I will want to have in the future) 🎀👶🏼🍼
Opinions?
Yeah that part is something that no one seems to warn you about for some reason lol and I mean it was sooo painful for me to get up and move around the first week and with a newborn baby you can't rest and recover and care for the baby its hard I had help thank god cause I don't know how I would have done it alone. But I've also heard stories about people who have been up and moving quickly with no pain but that sure wasn't me. And you will be given major pain medication afterwards because again, healing from major surgery lol so there is a lot to think about! But reading your comment above, my sister has the same std and she gave birth naturally with no problems, no outbreak she was also given meds close to time to deliver to prevent any outbreaks as well. So you do have options girl, I was so jealous of her natural birth it seemed like a breeze compared to the dramatic recovery I went through lol
Thank you @ariesbaby16 . Considering I will be alone when I come home from the hospital I might not do a c section. My mom and fiancé will be working 8-5 Monday through Friday so I'll pretty much be all alone all day.
Having had a c section with my first, I would not recommend choosing a c section. The recovery is so painful and that first week or so home with your newborn you will need lots of help because you will be healing from major abdominal surgery! It sucked but to be 100% honest I'm terrified of natural birth lol so I guess for some it all can be scary but c sections are really hard to go through if it's not medically necessary. I had to have one because with each contraction my babies heart rate decreased so it was an emergency c section. I'm being told I will have to have one with this delivery too and I'm soooo nervous scared and undecided about it. Just do your research and don't let other alter your decision in the end your the one that has to go through this!
@talbottgirl, that's one of the reasons I was thinking of vaginal. This will be my first too!
i plan to do vaginal with no epi due to it being my first child and i want to experience everything that comes with this miracle. its just my opinion and my plan.
No problem mama...... Don't let it scare you but I understand where you are coming from.
@mrsgeorge, thanks . I would love to do vaginal but I guess I'll just have to decide closer and see how I'm feeling then.
Don't worry. I have the same had all my babies vaginally 2 with the epi 1 natural and this one will be born natural as well. All of them were born happy and healthy. They will also give you meds I believe the last few weeks of your pregnancy to prevent any outbreaks.
well that is certainly a good reason to be considering a c section. do what you think is best! your health and baby's health is what matters!
@mrsgeorge, this is probably a little tmi but the reason I was considering a c- section was because I do have an std that only comes out when I'm stressed, any other time it's not there but I was just worried that being in labor would cause stress to the point I would have an outbreak and I wouldn't want my baby passing through vaginally then. My Obgyn said if I don't have an outbreak within 5 days of delivery then the risk is minimal but I'm not sure if I want to even take the chance considering he could be born blind along with other problems.
I have heard that they dont give you the epi when you are having a contraction they wait until it passes but I could be wrong either way u will be fine billions of women get through it
I would say to do vaginal unless you need to have a csection for medical reasons. I'm even surprised that doctors are offering that as an option to healthy pregnancies. As far as pain meds go I wouldn't worry about either because when you go into labor you will know exactly which one you want. Of course educate yourself on both but be open to either way.
I'm just torn about the epidural because it has to go in your spine while you're having a contraction and you can't move. If I'm in pain I don't know if I'll be able to stay still long enough for them to give it to me @chasinghappiness.
I did vaginal with the epidural. there are pros and cons of this. pros; I wasn't in pain. I was relaxed. it was joyful. cons; I couldn't push. it was too strong for me and they had to suck my baby out since I couldn't feel my body!
yeah. try natural first. then get an epi if need be. too many people get c sections for no reason. we were made for this! embrace it!:)
I suggest that you don't get a c-section unless you have too and if you can't take the contraction get an epidural.
I had my daughter vaginally with no epidural or pain meds. It was a horrifying experience but all you need to think about is seeing your baby's face and holding them. It helps you get through it. I would still never get the epidural with the rest of my children. To each their own but I prefer feeling everything and going through the whole experience sober so I can experience that moment they arrive and you get to hold them.
