Unfortunately you can't make someone quit that is not willing to go through the withdrawals to quit. I smoked since I was 14 and the only times I didn't is when I was pregnant but as soon as I had the baby I lit up. I plan on not starting back up after this little one is born but that is just because I'm really done smoking, I actually hated that i needed a cigarette so many times in a day. I wish I could give you better advice, I keep trying to make my husband stop but he doesn't care, he doesn't smoke around me and that's about as good as I am gonna get. Smokers tend to be stubborn about the habit. My excuse was I enjoyed smoking no reason to quit but I hated the fact I couldn't breath when exercising and all the other things it causes. Just keep telling her how you feel, don't expect an outcome of it but let her know constantly how you feel and how it upsets you because you love her and don't want to lose her and your baby is never gonna get the chance to share a bond with her either and that hurts you

I lost my MIL to sickle cell cancer she still smoked but only because her Dr said she should enjoy her life because they didn't know for sure how long she had left I wouldn't try to force her to stop because even with chemo and radiation no one knows what the outcome will be maybe she is enjoying the things that make her happy while she still can

its alright @txkitten83 well I live in Florida and she lives In Alabama its just after I moved from up there back down here everything seemed to be falling apart. her daddy which is my great grandfather had just found out he had pancreas cancer and within two months it took him from us. then after I get pregnant I found out she has breast cancer I tried talking on the phone about it and all she says is Brittany , I'm a grown ass woman if I really wanted to quit I would and then I would say well then how do you expect that wound to heal after you were told by the doctor you need to quit you just had your breast removed not even a month ago . I know I can't say anything cause I was a big time smoker myself my dad got me started at 16 and I couldn't stop till I found out I was pregnant . I told her I love her the family loves her my aunt Is also pregnant and she was never suppose to have kids this is her first as well and my grandma needs to realize that cause she's got two grandbabys on the way and I freaked out the other day had a really REALLY bad panic attack cause I thought me and my fiance were breaking up it got that bad and I called her to tell her to come get me but eventually I tried calming Down for the sake of the baby (these hormones are raging though) and had my friend call her and MY MOM back but my mom flipped out on her cause I was trying to calm down anyways I think she's mad at me for that which I don't blame her cause I'm trying to be there for her but she keeps pushing me away cause I said I love you and all she said was "u too" that hurts a lot :( my bad for the long comment but I just wanna help her so she can watch the grandbabys grow up and she acts like she just doesn't care :( that's the last piece of family I have everyone else has cut me off cause I'm pregnant and it sucks!

I know I just lost one grandparent over this I do NOT wanna lose her ! she's my world she's just too damn stubborn to see it.

I know how you feel trust me, my dad just went through bypass surgery and his Dr told he he needed to quit cause it could cause complications with his surgery, he refused. Of course after the surgery he was in icu recovery for about a week so he didn't smoke any and we all thought he would leave then alone, Nope as soon as he walked out of the hospital, staples in his chest still, he lit up. So trust me I know how you feel. Just love her and make sure she knows it cause being upset won't help any

I know it's hard but she is feeling attacked right now so she is being short. Give her sometime, or if you want you can call and apologize, just tell her your just worried about her but your sorry you will leave it alone.

I did she's texting me I apologized twice for the other day and trying to give her advice . i told her im not gonna say a single word her sister doesn't even know she smokes and lives next door to her if she finds out all hell will break lose her sister smokes too but after losing both their daddy due to pancreas cancer and finding out Nana has breast cancer she will be a blown up firework on her butt about smoking . but its whatever though
