I haven't been on here since I posted I was going to the hospital and I apologize! Here's what happened:
I came back to the hospital for what I thought was another preterm labor "scare". The first time my water was leaking and I was bleeding heavily but this time I was having what I thought was the bloody show and some cramping pretty low in my pelvic area. The hospital I went to had to transfer me to the hospital I was scheduled to deliver at bc their NICU isn't equipped to handle the baby. Well that's a two, almost 3 hour trip! I'm so, so glad transport got there when they did bc we got back to Augusta and 30 minutes later MY WATER BROKE. First I started "cramping" more (which I now realize weren't cramps, it was actually contractions the entire time) then I just started feeling bad all the way around.
Right before that the doctors came in and checked me for preterm labor and the test came back positive and I was effaced and cervix open but not dilated from what I remember. They did an ultrasound and measured her water and everything looked fine. They started me on the iv with some antibiotics and a bolus of magnesium to help slow my labor down. Then the doctor left and shift change began. I'm fr this baby has the worst timing.
So the doctors are all switching and my new nurse came in and was finishing my registration and asking questions. We were joking and laughing, the whole shabang and all of a sudden my water breaks! My boyfriend wasn't there yet but thankfully my mom was! The nurse throws on some gloves and runs out in the hall yelling I need doctors!!
This male doctor comes in (I've never met him) and checks me, says I'm 93% effaced and 3 cm dilated and confirms it was definitely my water breaking, not leaking. He says lets get ready to deliver and I informed him I needed a c-section. He tells the nurse to go tell the OR team and start prepping, so she does. The doctor leaves and comes back in a minute later and says ok I just read your file and I didn't know the baby had complications OR that you're only 30 weeks. He says we're not going for a c-section, just gonna try to play it day by day and give her as much time as possible to grow, then leaves after giving the nurses some instructions.
Well less than an hour later I'm in true labor obviously, the medicine is doing nothing to stop it and contractions are coming every 2 minutes and lasting at least a minute. I got mad bc nurses were ignoring me saying they knew my contractions were getting worse but weren't getting the doctor so my mom went and found him. He came back in and checked me again; I was now 100% effaced and 4 cm dilated. He looks at me and says are you ready to have a baby and I started bawling even harder and telling him no but it wasn't really my decision! Baby girl had already made hers!!
So he once again goes to tell the OR staff to prepare for an emergency c-section while my nurse is prepping me and my mom. I'm crying the whole time in between breathing through contractions bc I knew the baby was too early and too damn little!!
Doodle was brought into this world via cesarean at 6:50 p.m on January the 14, weighing 2 pounds 12 ounces and measuring 14 and a quarter inches long. 👶🏼👶🏼
Oh I see no matter what stay strong. And babies are stronger then you think. Praying for you guys!!
No she wasn't having that at all!! She even pooped in me and all the meconium came out with my water. She's doing ok. She's 10 weeks premature and has gastroschesis where her organs are outside her body. She's has a lot of tubes and wires and a ventilator to breathe for her.
@royalmommy, thank you 😘
