So at my 37 week growth scan they said my baby girl only weighs 5 pounds 3 ounces. Which they said is really small. Did anyone here have a small baby and if so how much did they weigh and was it caused by an illness of any kind? Or did anyone have a larger baby then they were told to expect? I am so freakin worried now. 😔 They think it's probably just genetics because my husband and I are both short. But there is also a chance that it could be a birth defect or chromosomal abnormality and they won't know till she is born. If you have a second could you please say a little prayer for her. I would be forever grateful. Thank you!!!

With my first I had hypermesis until delivery. I delivered at 39 weeks 4 days and she weighed 5lbs 7.5ozs while I was in labor they estimated she would be 7 lbs. She was completely fine other than needing help staying warm and she could only eat .5oz at a time because her stomach was so tiny

I don't think doctor's are always right. With my first they had a lot of extra nurses in the room because they said my son would be 2/3 pounds, boy came out being 8 pounds & my OB crapped her pants! lol
How far along were you when you had your daughter @blessedmamaof3 ?
If your baby is born on time or later than 40 weeks he or she has time to gain more weight don't worry 😊
My daughter was only 5 lbs 14 oz at birth just because they're small doesn't mean they won't be healthy❤️
