You just get an IV of antibiotics during delivery so the bacteria isn't passed to your baby. and I believe that's only in vaginal birth I heard if you have a c-section you don't get it, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

this is actually the first time I've heard of them swabbing the rectum. @their.bomb.ass.mom I've only heard of the vaginal swab.

With my Group B Step test they did it. swabbed vaginally and then the rectum, I was positive as well. @mamaofangelbaby0610
