whoa I'm getting messages being called a bad pet owner in regards to my dog post? let me inform some of you on my pregnancy. I'm high risk already, but my dog has caused me to go to labor and delivery MULTIPLE times due to jumping on me and making me fall onto my stomach. I'm really bout to lay in on some bitches. I'm concerned bout my animal. but I'm also concerned with not harming my son.
don't come at me like that.
that shit ain't right.

We have a small pit/lab mix that still acts like a puppy. She charges at me and I have to stop where I am because I worry she'll knock me down. We've already decided that she's going to stay primarily in her kennel when the baby comes.

like I know animals are family but Im getting shit like "that's your dog. stop being shitty and take care of him. if you fall you fall" like... what? do people not understand WTF a FALL can do to your baby when you're pregnant? do people not get that snow and pregnant women falling ate enough of a hazard as is? like I'm really baffled at the fact I'm basically being told "fuck your baby's saftey. your dog is more important " like forreal??? @not.that.basic @emiliasmommy15 @tabatha333

You have to do what's safe for you and the baby! If that means the dogs outside for awhile then outside. Yes it's cold out but as long as there's somewhere the dog can go to hide from the wind your fine

@ariel.grossnickle, he had a barrel with a huge comforter and hay in it. so I know he's fine. but the temp is gonna drop to like 12 degrees at some point tonight. so my boyfriend's mom told us to bring him in. it's her house so we have to go by her rules too. so the fact that she's saying bring him in for the day and night. really means something. ya know? I just cannot do it. it's not worth risking another trip to Labor and delivery and being scared to death on whether my son is okay or not @ariel.grossnickle

I understand, you and your babies safety are number one. but your dog could die in the cold. maybe there is another alternative, like keeping the dog in a kennel, or you keeping yourself away from the dog, like with the door shut. and don't get offended, those 2 options are basically the same thing, lock the dog up or keep yourself separate. just trying to keep everyone safe and healthy in this situation.

@maybabyboy, he's coming inside for the day. it's just the matter of my boyfriend getting here to do it. he's gotta find a kennel for him first which is the biggest issue. his mom had stated he doesn't come inside her house until there's a dog kennel for him to go into. we're not leaving him out there in the cold. it's just we're running into a few issues ATM trying to get him inside. but I do know he's smart enough to stay inside that barrel until someone comes to get him. it's got plenty of hay and blankets on it for the time being until he can be brought inside. but he's been through worse. my boyfriend's grandparents had him for 4 Years prior before he got his dog back. and he was an outside dog then as well through winter. we just don't have his dog house anymore which was hand built with heating lamps and wood in which wouldn't leak water through.

he's got this huge territory marking problem, which is why he's outside again. he was an outside dog forb5 years. when we got our own place he became an inside dog. and that's where we saw its a huge transition for him to just hold his business until we take him out. then we moved in with my boyfriend's mom and she refuses to have any stuff of her have piss on it. so that's why hes an outside dog again. George tends to not care if he gets into trouble if he pees on the bed or the couch or poops anywhere in a house. he does it regardless how many times you try to fix the problem with him. it's just a huge transition for him. he's so used to being able to use the bathroom whenever and where ever he wants. But as soon as we find a home of our own again, he's becoming an inside dog again. @maybabyboy

well, I'm sorry you're having such a hard time with that, I would be pretty frustrated too. is he fixed??

he's not. which is also another huge issue. we have a smaller inside dog that I almost had to get rid of when we moved in until we begged to keep her. and she isn't fixed either. they've had puppies already and all. but money is so tight with us as is. and now that there's a baby coming we can't even think about doing so for either of our two dogs. we're still struggling to pay off a vet bill from a few months ago bc we had to put their puppy we kept down bc he had parvo. so it's all very frustrating with our dogs. we could never dream of giving away our dogs. so as bad as it sounds we keep one in because she's house trained and she stays just in our room. as apposed to him. we want him in. but he just can't bc of his territory marking issues. I hate the whole situation and more than ready to have a new home so my dog can be back inside with me. @maybabyboy

I agree, my husband stopped letting me be around our puppy because he was not happy about how the poor guy would get excited to see me and try and jump on me or put his paws on my belly (he was a HUGE puppy, 1yrold and the size of a grown dog), and this coupled with the fact that he too had a marking problem at homes with other dogs, my husband gave him to a friend, so these people should just stop, humans need to take care of human babies first and foremost...People should do their best with their pets, but some behavior is not predictable, and you can't sacrifice everything for an animal. Humans don't even get 100% comfort, why should a pet?

@tahtahme, exactly. although we both don't wanna give away either of our two dogs. the saftey of my son is most important especially since I'm high risk. as well as... if my dog caused me to lose my baby...id be devastated. we've come too far with our struggles with babies. loss after loss after loss. we do everything in our power to keep this baby well taken care of as it keeps growing bc it's our rainbow baby..not to mention since becoming pregnant my boxer pit has been rough with me. and I think it's because he senses there's something completely different about me. he used to lay on my belly then it turned into jumping ON my belly, pawing my belly too hard, stepping ontop of me, now it's become jumping on me and knocking me over. it's just too much right now as well. our boxer pit is my boyfriend's pride and joy. but at the same time. so is our son, but we do everything we should every day with him. he gets fed, watered and played with on a day to day basis. so it's not like we stick him out there and never come back out. but apparently that's just not enough
