I'm sorry:( it is so wrong in every way

I hate it you would think that they would be like damn let me not smoke in front of her she is pregnant and instead they will blow the smoke right in your face...

that's one of the many reasons why im moving out of my house too. my mom smoks all the time but it's not only cigarettes

I told friends and family, no matter how close we are, that if they continue to smoke around me or don't shower/change clothes after smoking after baby is born that they will have ZERO contact with my child. It sounds harsh, but you have to protect your child first.

smoking in the house and car is just gross. the walls turn yellow, and smoke rises, so it goes through the air vents. if you do have a place to move to soon where the air is clean for your and your baby. that would be best.

your baby will be perfectly fine. don't freak out about it. just walk away when they smoke. my mom smoked with me and my brothers. my sister in law smoked with all 5 of her kids. thankfully everyone is alright. I used to be a smoker as well. started and stopped several times. never smoked during pregnancy. this last time quitting was the hardest but I was so tired of the addiction and the nasty annoying coughing. and the smell on me, I quit 5 months before getting pregnant. but I couldn't be happier. if I was you I would get a air filter for your room, and clean it often. keep your bedroom door closed. keep an air freshner plug in. and just walk away from them or step back a little when they smoke.

Unfortunately that means you have been around 3rd hand smoke too which is horrible for children. Good for you for moving.

exactly!!! @shannaa24 I wish they would understand. mom knows how terrified I am of things like this but all she can keep saying is you will be alright. I know I won't. I definitely can not wait to move out next month.

I would definitely just walk away from them when they smoke. I don't know why they can't respect you. my family members are smokers too. I don't live with them tho. some people are rude and really don't think about others or their future babies. it's not gonna kill them to hold off on a cigarette, or go outside to smoke.

I have been around my family who smokes as well and everytime I go over there I'm around it but the doctors haven't said anything was wrong with the baby so far I suggest leaving the room when they smoke or talking to them about your concern

my mother smoked cigarettes with all three of us and we are OK.. but its not right if they do that around you if you don't want them to.. walk away when they light one up.

I'm in the same situation. I'm actually moving out of the house I'm living in because they won't stop

whenever they smoke just go away... my friend was like that... whenever we were in a car she just HAD to smoke. some people are just inconsiderate..
