Okay mommies I need another form of discipline for my 2 and 4 year old nephews. popping them or whooping them doesn't work. Putting them in the corner doesn't either. My mom thinks the 2 year old could possibly have autism. What are the signs? Nothing just seems to click with them. Idk what to do. On top of that I have an 8 month old up watch out for.

Make your own breakfast! At what age do you think a child should be making their own breakfast? I have a 10 year old and I think he is perfectly capable of making himself breakfast. It doesn't take rocket science to put some waffles into the toaster, or microwave some pancakes. My husband insists that he needs to have breakfast made for him because if we left it up to him he wouldn't eat enough and it would take him forever.

Modesty- Where did it go? There is too much sexy going on! I was incredibly guilty of it in my younger days, too. But as I get older and look at pictures that women are proud of I actually get embarrassed for them. What happened to old fashioned modesty? I change clothes if my v neck t-shirt shows too much! I know my younger self would be laughing at me right now, but I have definitely changed my perspective as I have gotten older and become a mom! Does anyone else feel this way or have I just turned into a crabby old biddy that forgot what it was like to be young?!?!
Question: 16 year old dating an q8 year old? Thoughts?? My opinion is hell no. 16 year old is still a kid. Kids now a days want to be grown so bad and be in adult relationships and situations. I know when my daughters are 16 and they tell me they are dating an 18 year old. I will surely flip my lid.

safety hugs. when they act up wrap their arms around their body then you wrap your arms around them. hold them there and talk calmy until they understand that its time to do something different. for example. if theyre throwing a fit. let them know its time to get passed it and move on to something else. my little brother is autistic and this really put him at ease. just know you could be there for about 20 min the first couple times. but after that you get a much faster reaction.

its hard to tell that early. but delay in milestones. such as walking and talking. ummm obsessive behavior. my brother would get fixated on something and no matter what we could not break his thought of it. there's also "stemming" and it comes in many different forms such as rocking, humming, clapping, or (like my little brother) spinning or watching things spin. he loved spinning tops. and we used to keep them around to keep him calm. theres also difficult eating. theyre very picky. my little brother is high functioning. and theres different levels. so him being high functioning he seemed very normal for a while. just a tiny bit delayed. but eeveryone blamed the age gap between my sisters and i and him and said that we just did everything for him. but when he got to school age there were major learning differences. which lead to them finally testing him.

He walks fine. Not very picky. He's almost 3 and doesn't talk very well. He sucks his thumb. @brittneybryant92

@ya0515, well i wouldnt alarm yourself with autism. the speech could be an issue because of the thumb sucking but im sure he will grow out of that. luckily he has an older brother to chase around and kids who have older siblings usually develop faster, easier because theyre trying to keep up. im sure you're a great mama. just try the safety hugs. it works for all kinds of children. and it helps you to not wanna knock them out lol.

Lol. Only the 8 month old is mine. But their mother is in jail so technically they're mine for now lol. I'll try that. But do I do them for everything like throwing toys, him hitting? What will he associate it with. He'll probably just laugh at me and the fact I'm hugging him @brittneybryant92

oh ok. youre a good woman for taking custody. and you can use it as a redirector for everythinyouso if hes throwing toys use your normal reprimand. whatever it is. if it still doesnt redirect his behavior then literally dont say anything. just grab him up. hold him really tight. have a conversation. and when you feel like he has understood and he isnt tense or fighting you let him down. he will he pretty pissed the first time you do it. hes gonna want.you to let him go. so it works in that hes not gonna want you to basically hold him down cuz hes gonna want control. and if hes hitting/throwing tantrums. it works too. its a calming thing. basically like swaddling. but with your arms.
