Me and my husband just had the most horrible scare!! We have a hedgehog and she wasn't waking up and when she started waking up she started wobbling. So I freak out!! Well we jump in the car and go get honey!! And a heating pad. Well she started going into hibernation mode. Not good! And we almost hit three deer speeding on the way back!! Well she's waking up now and me and my husband were in tears!! Just imagine our actual human child 💕💕💕💕

@mama2dlt, do you have a heater for that sweet baby? Even just a space heater is better than nothing. They need to stay about 75 degrees to be comfortable. The best thing you can do is put him under your shirt for skin to skin contact. Just don't put a heating pad under his bin because he will get burned by it. Feel free to message me! He's so handsome!! We have a towel down to separate it! And a heater in the bathroom. The heating pad is on low! We're keeping her in her cage in the bathroom so it gets warmer quicker! Smaller area!! I swear I was balling!!! She didn't eat last night that's what we noticed and I said somethings wrong!! She's coming around tho! I softened her food with water and put a tiny amount of honey so she would eat it! She's my first baby!! @florafedora

Do you use fleece? I cut up the cheap (like $3) fleece blankets into 4s and make his bin up like that. He always sleeps between the blankies and stays pretty warm that way too. I'm glad she is feeling better! Mine only eats his cat food and he would scoff at honey lol it's good that yours actually likes things! Ours will be a year old in March and we seriously love him so much that I get teary eyed talking about how sweet he is haha we LOVE him

Keep an eye on her if she's wobbly! If she can't walk straight after a day or two it could be WHS and it is very sad ☹️ If you have Facebook you should join the group Hedgehogs Anonymous! They are a well of knowledge about everything hog and I have learned so so much from them especially about emergencies. Check it out!
