Don't let anyone tell you that nursing in public is a bad thing. Don't let anyone make you feel uncomfortable. Don't cover up if you don't want to (I don't like my head covered while eating so I don't cover my daughter's) seek professional help as soon as possible (most hospitals have lactation consultants on staff). stay hydrated. Don't freak out if baby goes a day or so without pooping it's completely normal. Oatmeal helps milk production so does skin to skin even after you leave the hospital. find positions that are comfortable for you. Try not to worry about your supply unless baby isn't gaining enough weight or isn't having adequate diaper output. ENJOY THIS TIME WITH BABY. & stop when you and baby are both ready not because someone discourages you. Get a good supportive bra (not necessarily a nursing bra) I got mine from Lane Bryant & sears. Also if you can afford to stay out of work for a while do it you won't regret it. Goodluck! I'm almost 4 months in & loving every minute

Also if you want to save money you can make your own nursing bras and tanks. Just go to walmart and buy some hooks or snaps and sew them on the straps. they have good ideas for it on pinterest.

Set small goals. 2 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months etc. It will be hard at first but it gets easier. Read up on cluster feeding and if you plan on giving baby breast milk in a bottle, do it between 6-8 weeks. They can refuse it if you wait too long. Buy breastfeeding friendly bottles. Tommie Tippie is what my baby likes. Get some nursing bras without wires (wired ones can block milk ducts early in breastfeeding), nipple cream, breast pads, and tank tops for easy feedings. Feed on demand! Probably the BEST tip anyone could give! Also the absolute best way to keep your supply up, is to feed often and let the baby decide when she is full! When the baby feeds it sends signals to your breasts to produce more, so the more you feed the more you will produce (under normal circumstances). Pumping does not to this the same way, but if you have to go back to work and need to pump just do it often! Drinks lots of water and eat plenty, keep taking those prenatals for extra help, and don't give up!!! It's gonna be hard sometimes, even a lot of times, and it's probably gonna hurt until you and baby get used to it, but keep going! If you can survive the pain of pregnancy, labor and delivery, you can survive breastfeeding until you and baby learn to latch well!!! It's truly a special thing, and it's so great for your baby, and even you! One more thing...don't let people try to tell you that you're spoiling your baby, there is no way to spoil a baby!!! Love, hold, cuddle, comfort feed all you and baby want! And don't introduce a bottle at least for 6 weeks to avoid nipple confusing. I wouldn't even go for a pacy at all, they don't need it! If they get all the love from mom and dad, there's no need! My 4 month old is exclusively breastfed, no bottles, no pacifiers, and she is such a happy baby! She barely cries, and is so big, strong and smart!!!! You can do this mama, you will be great as long as you stick to it and trust your instincts 😁

A Bobby works amazing
