any advice on how to quit smoking? I'm cutting down but some days are harder than others. I would like to be completely done before the end of the month. and I would like advice not negativity please :)
I also quit cold turkey . my first pregnancy it took me about a week to stop , an that pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. so this time as soon as I found out I was pregnant I said okay I'm gonna smoke my last cig, couldn't even take 3 hits I felt so guilty . my baby doesn't have a choice if they want to smoke or not they can't get away from it, it's our job to protect our baby, an keep them safe . After the 4th day of no cigarettes I was fine , my boyfriend smokes, not around me but I still smell it on him an it doesn't even bother me or make me want one . just think what's more important a cigarette that last a few minutes or you're baby that's going to last a lifetime . After I have the baby an breastfeed, for awhile I'll start smoking again because I want too, although I shouldn't I know. but in the time being I'm fine without them . I want this baby more than life itself . Look up on Googled side effects of smoking during pregnancy , how it increases the chance of miscarriage , low birth weight etc. it'll help . when you get stressed or want to smoke just get on one of your pregnancy apps an look at your baby , an read what's happening this week, look at an ultrasound and all that :) I wish you an your baby the best of luck 💕💕
I tried cold turkey. I got sick more often and longer through the day. before I got pregnant it was a pack a day I'm now down to 11-12 depending on the stress level but thank you all for the advice there's a lot of good ideas and also thanks for putting it all positively. :) you ladies are awesome!
I think of my baby and that's all that keeps me from smoking. Like I was told to think of your uterus like filling with smoke every time that you take a puff, and that helps me feel awful enough to not smoke. That may not be the best way for everyone, but I was so stressed I felt like it wouldn't do any harm, when that's not really the case. I had to read a lot about it and make myself feel guilty as fuck every time until I stopped at about 15 weeks. If you stop before 15 weeks, it takes your chances of any complications back down to the same as someone who never smoked in their lifetime!
pray it starts to make you sick to smoke that's what happened to a friend of mine just start looking up what's in them on the internet it might deter you from them
I want to try to quit because I want to breastfeed after but I just may try that
It honestly is just a mind thing and you just have to really want it. It helped me to read all the bad things about it and I just try to keep myself occupied and stay away from people who smoke. It is still hard and I haven't stopped WANTING to smoke. I don't know if I will ever stop wanting to. The only thing that makes it unbearable for me is being around anyone who is smoking or even just smelling it on peoples clothes or knowing that they have them.
thank you!
