So I went to the emergency room a few days ago with an itchy rash that just looked like huge goosebumps. The rash spread and became painful and turned red. I went to the er again, this time I got diagnosed with Chicken Pox. Apparently, it's a really big deal. I called my midwives, who wouldn't see me until I was 12 weeks (my first appointment was supposed to be today). They told me not to come in for over a month because chicken pox is so dangerous. Then, I called my primary care. That office also told me not to come in because of the contagiousness of chicken pox. My counselor told me not to come in in case of people with compromised immune systems. Now the er is the only help I have access to. Strangely enough, the blisters today are almost gone. I'm wondering if it was just a reaction to something. And I'm wondering why, if chicken pox is so dangerous in pregnancy, I had such a lack of support from any kind of medical professionals. Has anyone else dealt with something like this? I have yet to receive any kind of maternity or prenatal care. The ultrasound was from a local prolife organization. I don't understand...
Uhh that's awful I would go to another ER and explain it all to them I'm not sure when you have a vaccine if it were to present differently then the typical chicken pox. Now is the time while you have some spots still to go get answers ! Hope that helps.
Yeah that's bs :( when my son had it they encouraged us to go in with any issues (including me because I was pregnant at the time--didn't contract it though!). I know it's contagious but jeeze.
Thank you @foreveryoung247 and @kmally I originally got diagnosed with hives. I'm honestly more upset with my maternity care. I was terrified. They told me I could develop potentially fatal infections and pass on genetic defects to my baby and then no one would see me.
@kmally, right ! That's what I was thinking too ! I'd get s second opinion@lexye1225
I still have a few red dots, but no blisters or raised bumps. I had it for all of three days.
Time for them to scan over is what you will have to wait for. If it is I fact chicken pox but I would get a second opinion from another ER
Honestly...doesn't look like chicken pox at all. My son just had it earlier this year. It almost looks more like hives? Not a doctor but just what I'm seeing. And chicken pox wouldn't disappear that quickly.
Thank you guys :)
