help please when do your newborns start dreaming? my one month old when he is sound asleep starts crying as if hes being hurt but hes fast asleep. i have to physically wake him up to get him to stop crying. he will go right back to sleep after wordes but it makes my heart brake to think hes having nightmares. what can i do for him?

@saved4ever91, I was reading that they do that because they realize you aren't holding them and aren't nursing them so they wake up crying. Nothing much you can do but to comfort them.

my daughter does that too :( it is so heartbreaking. the only thing you can really do is wake him and let him know he's safe and you are there. My daughter always does it and as soon as I wake her she sees me and calms right down.
