Wow! I don't know how you can go that long without an ultrasound I was dying to get my first one as soon as I could! Did one at 7 weeks to make sure my pregnancy was viable and they found out I was having twins! Don't be surprised if you get an extra surprise in there!! 😉

That's strange-how do the make sure the pregnancy is viable then?

Yeah! That's what I'm wondering @mommagotbump16 I can't believe they would make you wait that long unless there's another way to check for an ectopic pregnancy that I don't know of.

Not that I know of @chelcpoo . Or to make sure it's not a mass secreting hormones, etc.

Yeah @tayhuth I guess that would make it viable. As long as you aren't having any bleeding or cramping you're good. But honestly an ectopic pregnancy can be dangerous by 6 weeks pregnant and still have a heartbeat. That's why I'm just shocked some doctors make you wait so long! I guess I got lucky going to a free pregnancy clinic. They do first ultrasounds free!

I'll be 19 weeks on Thursday and I haven't had an ultrasound yet, at all. Most insurances don't cover ultrasounds so if you seem perfectly healthy, the heartbeat is loud and clear, and you don't seem to have any complications most doctors won't do one until the anatomy ultrasound between 18-20 weeks, because that's when you can tell the gender most clearly. I'll get my first ultrasound on the 21st and I'll also find out the gender that day!
