So here's my birth story (what counts the most anyways). Everytime I would have a contraction Vivien's heart rate would drop. As I was pushing and her head came out they discovered her umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck and they thought that was the reason her heart rate had been dropping. I had decided, for whatever reason, to open my eyes and look at her head and she was so purple that she looked black (all i could think to myself was 'I didn't have sex with a black man!'). They found out that the umbilical cord around her neck was not the reason, but that it was what they call a 'true knot' which is uncommon itself but even more uncommon for the baby to be born alive. They have a very small percent chance of living and most of them that live are because they are born via c-section. They told me that if I hadn't gotten her out with the last push that I did, she would of been a still born. They also told me she is the first one to be born alive in muscatine vaginally. My little miracle baby. (:

@teluv_myheart31, I really do think so! I belive she lived to help my family through the hard times to come because my uncle passed away almost 2 months ago now. so glad he got to meet her!

its from long umbilical cords and the baby doing flips. the cord was so long when it all came out! I was running on 2 hours of sleep when I had her and once she was born the ob called in a bunch of nurses and doctors to take pictures of the knot for practice and told them 'you'll never see this again' @leshea
