wow.
getting a flu shot was brought up to me the other day by my sister, and I said no, I wouldn't be getting one while pregnant. I don't trust it... even with things I've read, good or bad. I just don't want one while my little boy is still inside my body.
and she made the smart remark of, "do you really believe everything you read? I'm going to start making random articles and online memes. I'm gonna make one that says " you're 90 % less likely to get pulled over if it's raining." because you know everyone believes what they read."
I got on facebook this morning and she posted a freaking picture that said, "statistics show you're 90% less likely to be pulled over if it's raining."
uhm. don't fucking talk to me. this is my body, my decision to not inject my fetus with something I don't trust. and then you fucking mock me? fuck off.
I only got it because I live with 5 other adults who don't wash their hands and they won't get vaccinated. If I weren't in this situation, I would most likely (if I even got it) wait until after baby was born and not let baby get it. Because like you said, it's basically just putting the virus in you. It's not necessary if you have good hygiene and eat right and drink water. It's not hard to stay healthy and keep your baby healthy. You'll be fine without it, good luck with the induction! 🙏
I'm not getting it either.. I haven gotten one and my 8yr old daughter has never got it and we both never get the flu
okay, well I've got all the info I need about it from my doctor. if I was to get it while pregnant as long as I kept my fever down, and under control, my baby would be fine inside of me. I don't NEED to get it. I'm being induced tomorrow. no point to get it. also, like I've said, the only time I got a flu shot before, I got the flu. @aphrodite2014
@mermaidmommy, nope but I've taken microbiology and I'm in the medical field..
LOL, was I asking for opinions on my post? no, I was ranting.
not asking for your your two cents. I couldnt really careless.
it's that I, ME, MYSELF doesn't trust it. I don't care what the articles online say. you believe everything you read? @aphrodite2014
And it's not just about the fact I'm not getting the shot. it's about the fact she's mocking me about my decisions. @chelsie918
the one and only time I got the flu shot, I got the flu and was in the hospital. I haven't got one since. I don't trust it.. and I'm definately not going to basically inject him with it, and something happen, you know.
I'm connors mom, I don't mock her for the decisions she's made about her kids. I'm so mad about this. like I'm so close to telling her don't come to the hospital, don't come see us. I'm so close to going off.
She's kind of right. there's a greater risk to the baby from you not getting a shot than there is of getting one. but both are very low. im sure she's just worried about the baby. there are many untrue things spread around and people are uneducated on how to decide if something is credible information or not. like the person on here who was circulating an article about a girl that got paralyzed "from the flu shot". no doctor ever said that was the cause. her parents just thought it was.
I didn't get it, my whole family has bad reactions to the flu shot, and if rather be safe than sorry!
I didn't get one. I am, however, getting over the flu. 😔 My doctor assured me I would likely have gotten it anyway, as there are so many different strains. He also assured me my baby would be fine as long as I stayed hydrated and kept the fever in check. Which I've done.
I got the flu shot but I was so on the fence about it. I'd start sending her credible articles and stories on things that can and have happened to babies in the womb. Tell her she can stfu
exactly, and it's my own sister.
you got a flu shot while pregnant? that's cool good for you, I won't be getting one, but don't mock me for not wanting it. @tayek
thank you! @vinnysmomma
