Okay ladies I really need your help with this one. I don't want a baby shower. My boyfriend and I have way too big families and making a baby shower would be just so expensive. My mom has offered to pay for all the nursery furniture and few little items. What do you think, is a baby showers necessary?

So idk if I’m an asshole for thinking this but a girl I used to go to school with is having her 3rd kid and she’s planning a baby shower and she had one with her other two. I feel like a baby shower is something you do with ur first pregnancy. I live far from my family so I didn’t have one but i did have a baby registry and I’m not even doing that with this pregnancy. Idk I just feel like 3 baby showers is a lot! Especially when she gets things handed to her. Idk maybe I’m an ass for thinking that
I really thought I was getting a baby shower and like no one has even thought about giving me one. This is my first baby i mean no one has to do anything for me I just at least thought they had plans for me and they don’t. They gave my uncle one because his wife didn’t want one because she already had a kid.And everyone got a baby shower and was giving one .But I guess it’s okay. I’ll do my own baby shower with my next child I just thought family planned a baby shower for you . Lol guess I thought wrong.
I told my friend my mom wants to throw me a baby shower and write on the invite "monetary gifts only" and he told me that people aren't trying to pay for my "gas bill" I'm offended because a lot of money goes into a baby shower, and if you're gonna give me a 10$ blanket from Ross that I probably won't even use it's a waste. I rather use those 10$ for my honest company diaper subscription.

My husband actually doesn't want a baby shower. He doesn't want people to feel like we cannot support our own child hence need to throw a shower. This isn't to bash on other mommies!! I know you can support your babies! It just how my husband thinks. I'd love to have a baby shower just to have everyone come together and celebrate the life we'll bring into this world. Like you, my mom wants to buy some of the major things. In my religion, we do have a party 40days after the baby is born. That I will be doing as religious obligations. You can use the money to buy what you need.

It's totally up to you. I chose not to have one with this baby and everyone thinks I'm weird, but it's what we wanted.
