You asked if there was something wrong with that, so unless it is against state law or your child is not at the weight requirement, then technically there is nothing wrong with it. In my opinion based on my own research, though, I would wait.
Most states require baby to be 1 & 20lbs, some states have "best practice laws" that require you to follow the instructions of the car seat (most of which say baby must be 2 and over 40lbs) as liger mama said its recommended that babies RF until a minimum of 2y.o personally we are going to extended RF

I never wanted to forward face my daughter until I had to! And now it's a law here to keep rear faced until age 2.
