Just had a serious argument with my friend about baby shoes. I'm not buying any. Newborns do not walk. They outgrow everything, extremely quickly. When it is time for shoes, I will happily buy out Kids Foot Locker. Right now, I keep depositing the cost of those little shoes into her account. (Never too early to start saving!) Her logic?

"They're cute! Quit being cheap, you need to spoil her! "

There are cute prostitutes but I won't be bringing one home. I don't even equate material things with spoiling. Nadia will be absolutely cherished just like her sister, and it's not like I'm forcing my baby to do without. We have 2 of almost everything so far. (One for each house...we actually reside in the country but we have a home in the "city" for long work weeks.) I learned with my first that some things are just not necessary. As it stands the baby won't need clothes till she's 2.

Boy, people have their nerve.

I bought some shoes and they never stay on...she always kicked them off so I didn't buy anymore...all she has at 7 months old is a pair of warm slippers just for going out on cold days. but I think they are a waste of money when they are so little...when she starts walking she will get some then.

That's what I want to avoid this time. I felt so ashamed when I had to get rid of all that new/barely used stuff. All those clothes, shoes, and crazy this when my baby was happiest naked, in her socks, chewing on her Winnie the Pooh folk who didn't even talk lol

Yessssss, I went all out with my first. To end up selling a lot of stuff for not even half of what I bought it for. Most new or worn once. 😥😟

@their.bomb.ass.mom, YOU have the idea!!!! We were in Footlocker & I just couldn't see spending even 30 on some shoes I'd be giving away or misplacing in a week.

I'm trying to NOT waste money this time lol She'll get everything she needs and a ton of stuff she doesn't but I'm not gonna blow money on something she simply cannot use.

I have some shoes, that were given to me, I maybe bought one pair of boots, but honestly they either fall off her feet or they're already too small since their feet grow so fast. My daughter is 9 months old and she's maybe worn shoes 4 times and that's not counting the time we put them on but they kept falling off and I just chucked them in the diaper bag. To me they aren't worth it that much, yeah they're cute, but no real purpose at a young age. Now when they start waking, sure to get them used to it. Socks will do just fine until then, or maybe even just little booties if it's super cold out.

I bought them with my first, biggest waste of money ! My second is 9 months has 2 pairs and gets them off before she can even be seen in them she is always in socks ! I can't agree more ! Even toddlers who's parents keep them in every pair of Jordan's and such just a big waste that they could be investing in their future !

I'm sure she won't be traumatized by being barefoot lol We're a very active family, she'll have her Nikes or her boots soon enough. As a newborn I just don't think it's practical. Just one more thing for me to keep up with lol

I did the same thing! they don't need them! I don't make my children wear shoes ( unless its winter or wet) because shoes are expensive and are not a commodity , they're a necessity

That's right. They don't need them. When they do, they don't even have to have very expensive ones either. Unless the parent choose to get them.

I'm ashamed at how much money I spent on things my first daughter never wore or used. 😔 At least I donated it.

The only shoes my daughter wore before she could walk were gifts and they were soft kinda like slippers. They outgrow shoes so fast and once they start walking they get dirty and scuffed I love buying toddler shows though so cute

Nadia is gonna be a March baby. In Georgia. I think the little shoes are adorbs. Does nothing for foot development and NO doctor would ever say put shoes on them lol Just the nerve of her (my friend) thinking I'd take parenting advice from a woman with no children, or respond to peer pressure about MY money from a woman who hasn't held a steady job in years.

I personally don't believe newborns need shoes either. UNLESS it's winter (my baby will be born in the dead of Wisconsin winter) so some insulated snow booties are a must. other than that? naw.

Short Luteal Phase?

I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
