Lol exactly! 😂👌🏽 but yes, my midwife told me to have everyone get it at least 2 weeks before seeing him. I guess it takes that long to take effect? But I definitely believe it's a very important shot, whooping cough is no joke

Lmao I don't think most of my boyfriends family gets it but they'll have a rude awakening when it's time. If they come to the hospital or house they'll be washing their hands too than sanitizing I don't want the smell of stale smoke on them either..( and I use to smoke before I got pregnant ) I'm making them all get their whooping cough shots or else they cannot see my son. If you're crazy I'm just as crazy lmao

I wasn't lol my plan was to have ppl come n visit on a certain day at home no cell phones ill watch u wash your hands all of that I know sounds crazy...but my family gets it I'm being overboard but they respect it n laugh but your right I was assuming they could get sick easily n ect thanks for responding @torialvess

I'll be taking mine out right away, he will be covered of course. But there's no way I'm secluding him or myself from the world..and I'm a huge germ freak! As long as no ones up in their face than it shouldn't be a problem, it's basically the same thing as having visitors at the hospital or at home. Whoever they are, everyone carries tons of germs. So if you plan on not taking him out I would say not to let anyone in either than.

@their.bomb.ass.mom, agree 100%. Plan on probably being in for the most 9 days. Cause it's a ole wives tale in my country. But after that once he's bundle up baby, mom and daddy are out. It's an individual choice tho.

and @kmo i have three kids who didn't get sick often due to the fact that i did this girl, so don't worry

I took my newborn out the day after we got home from the hospital, she was covered in her car seat and such, we didn't go out often but I did not stay in for weeks or a month. She's never been sick even now at almost 9 months. It just seemed to me everyone that stayed in for a month or even 3 their children got sick very often. I wanted to "expose" her but not just throw her out in the elements, so we went out at least twice a week. I thought better then, than hitting her with it at all once when she's a little older. To each their own, you'll do what you want and see fit for your baby. I just don't see keeping them inside for several weeks or sometimes even months as a good thing. Not downing anyone who does though! My daughter was born in January and she still went out, all bundled up of course. But she was also perfectly healthy with no NICU time either. So that would all depend too. I plan on doing the same with this one who is due in March, going out a little a week and such. 😊

I completely get you. Especially with Emma, since she was born at 26+4 the NICU doctor said not to expose her to other kids and to wait for two month's. So do what you feel is best for your lil one

Honestly waiting at least a month especially during flu season is a good idea and not overly cautious at all. With my 3rd but my husband's first we started taking him out right away because I was trying to still doing everything with my older two and he ended up admitted to the hospital for a week at only 3 weeks old because he had a high fever. With our 4th and with this baby we agreed to not go any where with them for at least a month because it was heartbreaking to see our son so sick.

I didn't take mine out for about two months or three... around others... I know it's ridiculous but that's just me..

It's ok to take a newborn out, they need to be exposed to some germs in order for their immune system to build up. I have always taken mine out with me if I need to go somewhere regardless of how old they are. My almost three year old was born October 29 and we left the hospital on Halloween. Went home, got the other kids ready and went to celebrate Halloween at a local church

I know a lot of people do wait 6 weeks so a month and a half .. I'm not sure what I'm going to do though.
