How many maternity pads do I need after giving birth? Are always infinity (heavy flow) ok for such purpose or what did you use? I know that they have pads in hospital, so I need suggestion only for home use, so about 2 days after birthing.

@stacy_, yeah I changed them every 2-3 hours.. Even if you don't fill the pad you'll want to change it for sanitary purposes.. And yes she's right breastfeeding with call you to bleed more or heavier I should say..

@stacy_, after birth you use about a package a week maybe less. And if you breast feed be prepared to clot and gush Bc breastfeeding makes your cervix contract and helps bleed out faster

@their.bomb.ass.mom, thanks, it helps. I'll probably buy one package and then I'll see if I need more or not. The problem is those packages are coming in different sizes(16, 32, etc pads). That's why I'm confused :)

I used at least 3 packages of Always something or another. I know you can Google best pads for postpartum care. I used to use tampons during my period. but I never have since my daughter. hated them. so I even used them after birth.

@saramarie09, sounds like a lot for me, but I've never given birth before, so I feel like I'm lost :)

@saramarie09, I've read that women change them like once in 2-3 hours, is it true? About 6 - 8 pads per day?

Yeah I had the same his sue but I only had bleeding for about a week after I had Mt daughter.. But I know people who have had bleeding for 2-3 weeks.. So I would just buy enough for a week and then buy from there.. I bough I think 2 packs of heavy flow.. @stacy_

@saramarie09, got it, but how long did you use heavy ones? I never use them so I don't want to buy too many, because when my period comes back I'll just throw them away.

Birth Plan Rant I used to be all about getting an epidural, but after research and thinking about it more I want to have an unmedicated birth (this is my first baby). What annoys me is when I say that I'm going to TRY my hardest to have a natural and unmedicated birth people always feel the need to say that I'm crazy or that I'm going to change my mind when I get in that position. Or that epidurals are the best. I do realize that plans change, but why can't people be supportive and encouraging?
