Had a 3rd degree tear with my first and just wore underwear that would comfortably fit a pad and got durmaplast numbing spray and wasn't bothered by the pad or underwear at all. I did most of my bleeding in the two days I spent at the hospital with both my sons tho. Didn't need big pads for long and never leaked.
yes depends and A pad will have to do that's what I did when I had my first child and would just wear nightgowns ull just be at home

ask for extra mesh ones from the hospital. I went home with 4 pairs and I just would wash them really well with soap and water in the sink, they lasted all through my pp bleeding, no ruined panties!

@ftm2babyc, oh yeah it's way better than ruining underwear! I don't know why I didn't think about that. Thank you! Such a good idea. Cause I really like all my panties haha. Don't wanna stain them 🙈
lol yeah.. my hospital gives me a pair to go home in. they are mesh and good at holding the pad. I had stitches though so I wasnt about to wear normal underwear.
yeah, I only know this, because think about when you lay down, you don't want a trail up your back! lol its a little embarrassing but it's better than going through a lot of pads and panties (maybe even bed sheets) @candacelouise

Yes you end up having to wear huge pads because you do have blood and stuff come out.
