Labor Story:

*sorry it's taken me so long*

So I was set to be induced on August 26th at 7:30 am. On my due date (August 25th), my fiancé and I had just gotten in to bed around 1:30 am. My fiancé had just fallen asleep at about 2:00. I hadn't fallen asleep yet and started feeling what felt like when you first start your period trickling at 2:15 am. I walked across the hall to the bathroom and all of a sudden my water broke all over the bathroom floor! I woke up my fiancé and we headed to the hospital. We got there at about 2:45 and I was only 1.5 cm dilated, 50% effaced and Brette was still at -2 station! They got me in to a labor room as soon as they could and let me take a bath and wash my hair. They started pitocin right at 5 am. I was being checked every 2 hours and progress was so slow. By 10:30 am I was only 3 cm dilated and had pitocin on 8 pumps a minute rather than the normal 2! The contractions were so excruciating and close together that I decided to get an epidural. By 5:30 pm I was only 5 cm and my doctor had started talking about the possibility of a c-section but decided to give me a couple more hours. I slept from 5:30-7:30 and when they came in at 7:30 to check me I was at a 10! They gave me 30 minutes to labor down and I started pushing at 8 pm exactly. My little guy finally decided to make his appearance at 9:32 pm! He was 6 lbs 7 oz and 20 in long!💙
