Should I wash all my baby's clothes before she wears them?? I did with my son and everyone thought it was unnecessary!! But since forever everyone told me to wash new clothes before they wear them! Thoughts? How many of you mamas washed ? Or didn't?

Probably a cray question to ask, but when did y’all start to wash your newborns clothes and putting them away? Like I’ve been getting clothes since I found out what I was having but I haven’t taken off tags yet or washed anything. I’m 30 weeks. It’s crazy because with my other 3 kids I didn’t really wash a lot of their stuff at first (got lazy) ALSO what laundry detergent did you use if you didn’t use Dreft? Because i saw Pyrex for Baby an didn’t know if anyone tried it??
So I want opinions. I've had some friends tell me they didn't wash their babies new clothes before putting them on them and some have said they wouldn't put new clothes on their babies until they washed them. My question is, how important is it to wash the babies clothes before putting them on them when they're first born? TIA
ummmmm ..I see why folks say wash your baby's clothes before they wear them😱 I will be washing my own clothes when I purchase! didn't know they were that dirty 😱 I don't know how to feel about myself now😭 u wouldn't think brand new clothes would be that dirty ...but they actually are.😵

I washed everything, clothes, bibs, receiving blankets, crib bedding etc. even if they are all brand new never know who's touched them, dropped them or what's been in contact with them where they were made... I know I'm a bit of a germaphobe

I think you should because chemicals and some babies are so sensitive.

i washed everything too. even thougj it seems unnecessary its actually better for baby. those clothing come from the factories and they are full of chemical residues and then in the store people touch them with their germy hands over a thousand times. its best to not expose baby to unnecessary germs and it also makes them feel and smell soft and clean. be sure to use a chemical free detergent. but i dont have to wash the older sizes just the ones you will need for newborn and the blankies and crib sheets. congrats on ur baby 💖

and you've already pre washed them. . then you can't exchange them

I heard that some clothing lines spray pesticides on clothes to make sure bugs don't get on them and there's lots of color dye that comes out of baby clothes . I would def recommend washing them

I washed everything with tide free and gentle, as well as ironed all baby's clothes

I washed one newborn outfit and one 0 to 3 month outfit for our hospital bag but didn't wash anything else yet.
I'm going to before she wears them but I figured this way if we have a chunky baby I can still exchange all the newborn stuff without issue

i washed all his newborns and what he was going to wear a a month after coming from the hospital then i stopped because his skin is not sensitive he could wear all diaper brands and put on clothes with out no issues at all lol

Yea that's how my son was! I could use any diaper and any type of clothes and had no issues. @phasion but you know each baby is different so hopefully she doesn't have sensitive skin ethier !
