ok so I want to do the delayed cord clamping when she is Born. has any other mommy ever done this? is there anything I need to tell my doctor before hand about it? or the hospital?

i did!! 🙋🙋 i just told my doctor because it was 100% guaranteed that he would deliver.

What's the delayed cord clamping? is there any specific reason you want to do it?

it's better for baby. the blood from the placenta is really good for the baby and when they clamp the cord it cuts off that blood. if you wait baby can get all the good blood which has been known to make baby smarter and healthier. also clamping the cord too soon can cause brain damage but people don't notice it cause it's done so often.

I would tell your doctor and make sure the nursing staff know also delayed cord clamping is becoming more popular but you have to make sure they know.. also you can choose to request to hold your baby skin OT skin for atleast the first hour before they do anything with the baby and it helps them regulate their temperatures

ok thanks :) I will tell my doctor Tuesday and if he says I need to tell the hospital too I will.
