I don't know what to do :'( Nova-Lynn is a week old and she will only latch correctly during the day. at night she gets so fussy and hard that we end up bottle feeding. I feel like giving in and just bottle feeding but I'm so worried about the money... what do I do :'(
I learned at a breast feeding class that if the baby is to fussy there in like starvation mode (meaning there past the point of just being hungry) try waking the baby up a little earlyer and feeding before they get to that point
Babies feed off your energy. If you are stressed they are too. You may be waiting too long to feed at night and it's too much. Supplementing happens sometimes. Talking to a lactation consulting can really help. Just stay positive and breathe. Everything will be okay. This is a new thing for you both remember you're learning together.
If you want to breast feed then don't give up. You'll get her to latch on. You can always pump too and store milk in bottles. You can also look for a lactation consultant and ask for help on getting her to latch on to you at night. You got this mama. I know it gets frustrating sometimes, but all of us mom's have been there who have breastfed. Both of you will get the hang of it. ☺
When you get stressed at night she senses it and it makes it worse. Honestly I've really tried to stay calm during breastfeeding and it helps a lot
I had to literally just wake up to feed him instead of being half way sleep.
What about just pumping? Honestly though if you really want to breastfeed I just wouldn't give into the bottle for another two weeks.
