She's only 33 weeks and the doctor is telling her to walk. In her family history they have a tendency to have babies early and walking may speed up dilation. If I were her I wouldn't listen. What do you guys think?

Definitely not. And maybe the doctor didn't say it exactly like that. She could be changing the words around

@edomke, she said the doctor said it'll help her relax. Yeah, it'll help her relax because she'll be tired from walking. But it can also make her dilate which she doesn't understand.

I hate when people try to speed things up. Just chill lol

@aj1115, that's what I'm trying to tell her. I wouldn't walk if I was her because it can make her dilate. And she needs to keep him in there longer.

@drewmarie, she's not. The doctor told her to walk because it'll help her "relax" but she's gonna do what the doctor says because the doctors always right. It drives me insane because she thinks she knows everything because a doctor tells her stuff. I get info from everyone. Moms, doctors, and internet before anything.

My doctor would never tell me such a thing I started having Some contractions at 36 weeks after having sex and she told me no more sex so my baby would grow more.

@ak16, I have the same doctor as her but doesn't mean I'd listen to that part of what she tells me. She's dilated to 1cm and they had to give her a shot to stop contractions the other night.

If they gave her a shot then (excuse me but) why the hell?! Would she go walking and start possibly start them again? Just to get another shot or possible bed rest. Sheez that baby needs lots more cooking.

@ak16, exactly L&D told her drinks lots of water and stay off her feet but the doctor is telling her to walk. Like wtf

I think it's safe to start walking at 38 weeks. that's when I'm going to start walking and squatting and stuff. But to each its own.. I listen to my mom before a doctor anyway. Doctors can be very coo coo lol & my worked in Labor & Delivery & Nicu for 3 years so I trust what she tells me

You should talk to her and convince her not to walk. She's only 33 w.

I trust my doctor being she's delivered babies since I was born and has delivered over 5500 babies but you're friends L&D sounds smarter than her doc right now or maybe she just heard what she wanted to hear lol

@drewmarie, yeah I take anyone's advice into consideration but she's hard headed she thinks she's always right and to do what the doctor says. @ak16, we have the same L&D and doctor but I haven't had problems like her for the doctor to tell me that or to go to L&D but idk. I told her he needs to stay in there longer and walking can make him come faster but she's like "well doctors always right "

Not always true. Does she know her baby is still very small and he needs more time for his lungs and brain maybe you should send her some info

@ak16, I've tried lol. She's measuring ahead but his lungs still need a lot of maturing.

I just think that's sad because it won't be her that ends up paying for stuff like that it'll be him hopefully she's listen to someone
