I went in to my first prenatal visit today and got no heartbeat on the doppler Im so scared and…

u normally can't hear heart beat till 16 weeks

all the girls ive spoken to said they heard theres at 10-12 weeks

@leshea, you can't hear the heartbeat on the outside of the stomach at 13 weeks. the fetus is still very small...like a bean. you'd need a transvaginal ultrasound for that. I had a few in the beginning because I was bleeding. and if you don't like the dr change now, because otherwise you'll regret it later on.

You can actually hear the baby's heartbeat starting at week 8... But it's common for practitioners to not be able to find the baby's heartbeat with a Doppler because baby may move around a lot.

not trying to scare you, but I heard my baby heartbeat at 10weeks5days it was 172 I believe so it's possible. But by your baby being small still that's probably why you couldn't hear it. But they should have did a transvaginal ultrasound.

I'm surprised you didn't have an ultrasound instead. Dopplers are inconsistent that early. Stay positive.

Yeah I heard mine at 8 weeks. If you're worried I would ask your doctor to see you again

@queeneden, thats what I was thinking. I didn't start using Doppler's until 20weeks

Thank you guys this actually does make me feel better cuz ive had 2 ultra sound not at that clinic though it was my first time there.. anyway my first 2 ultra sound the baby had a visible heart beat and baby was moving like crazy and i know he or she was awake cuz the dr push her fingers in hard and hurt me also was pushing all over my belly super hard but it was so hard for me not to her the heartbeat cuz i got in a fist fight with my sister and ive been worried ever since

I didn't hear mine for a while. definitely not at 8 weeks. maybe by the time I was 13 weeks by a transvaginal. try not to panic.

@leshea, they should have never used a Doppler. u need the real deal ultrasound not no dam hand held Doppler. I would find another doctor that knows what they are doing.

they made me sign a paper stating i can not request ultrasound I can only get one at 20 weeks

I heard my baby's heartbeat at 8 weeks via ultrasound and I heard it again today at 12 weeks via the doppler. my Dr told me that using the doppler you're not always gonna be able to find the heartbeat right away. if you're really worried about it see about going to another doctor.

I heard my baby heart beat at 7weeks but that was cuz the vaginal ultrasound was done, ask your doctor to do a vaginal ultrasound , when it comes to your baby don't ever be a afraid to demand the medical professionals to do there job, its always better to be safe then sorry..don't stress and stay positive love 💕
