@allisha, I'm due in October to. I was told October 15th but that can change... Hoping that when I get into the midwife care I'll get a better idea. The place I was getting my care at sucks!

I'm hoping for a homebirth too! Waiting on insurance to tell me if they will cover my midwife. So far they have approved the homebirth! Leaving it in God's hands. What's meant to be will be. I hope you get the birth experience you're hoping for!

The midwife will base it off of your first day of your last period, when you have an ultra sound they will measure the baby and give you there opinion of how far along you are. @trezelle

@allisha, I dont know for sure the last day of my period! I had two ultrasounds already. I need to go get all my medical records from that other place so I can have it with me.

Yes they will want that, and when a midwife has to request them it may take a while. My midwife still hasn't gotten mine yet and it been a couple months. @trezelle

Yes I have told my parents and a few friends. They really hasn't said anything about it. I am sure they just don't want to have an unnecessary opinion knowing I will not change my mind lol :) @imstillhungry

@imstillhungry, my family mostly consist of my three siblings and they're all onboard and supportive. I haven't really told anyone I'm having a baby. My friends who I've told all are supportive of my home birth. I'm so excited for this amazing time in my life. I never thought I would ever have the opportunity to be a mom.

@allisha, the midwife care that I want to go with is probably the best in my area. They offer a lot of different things. The price that they gave me includes sonograms also. I'm not sure how long it takes though. I'm thinking of documenting it as I go along

@allisha, they won't be able to change my mind, but I know they'll try! Mom is a retired nurse, so I know I'll get an earful.

I want to start documenting too @trezelle, but been dragging my feet because I also suffered 2 miscarriages, both late last year. Still having a hard time getting super excited about baby. Hubby wants to do a memory box and I want to do a scrapbook or journal. not sure what we are going to go with.

@allisha, I'm looking into getting another camera. I want to start shooting my own pics every week. And I also want to make videos.

@imstillhungry, Awww that's so sad to hear! How far along were you? I started keeping a baby journal but haven't written in there for a while. I'm gonna get back on it though.

I was 7 weeks for my first and 5 weeks on my second. I was journaling for my first, but haven't touched it since.

No, I think it just wasn't time for us yet. I like to think I have two extra angels looking out for their new little baby brother or sister. How about yours? We're they able to figure out what went wrong?

I agree that's how I look at it. My first miscarriage I was 25 weeks, the second I was 12. For both I was told there was no heartbeat... The Dr I had during my first said I had an incompetent cervix but he is the only one who has vet said that so idk. To be honest innercity medical care is the worst. There's always so many patients to keep up with so you as a patient don't really get ultimate great care.

I'm so sorry to hear that! I can't imagine how difficult that was for you. What a blessing that you may have found better care. I hope everything works out for you.
