Labor Story!!

Well I had a planned induction on week 40+6. My OB could tell my baby was a good size already measuring about 8lbs. She also mentioned my cervix was posterior. His head was down but was sitting high.  She had a hard time trying to get in there and measure me. So on Saturday I was induced at 6am. The nurses got me hooked up on iv. They started pitocin to get contractions started.  My nurse would frequently check my cervix but also had a hard time, I was about 3cm dilated. When she would attempt to pull my cervix down, it would hurt like hell!! Omg it hurt.  And tried three different times, but my body would not let her pull it down becuase I would tense up inside because of the pain. Well contractions started getting stronger but bearable and I was dilating consistently after every check, but the baby would not drop!  The nurse suggested I get an epidural to relax my body. So I got an epi but after an hr or so, I noticed no difference and the pain kept coming on. It's supposed to take affect within 10 mins or so. I could even feel the catheter being placed in, that sucked!! My water ended up breaking and I said either I just peed all over myself or my water broke lol. Of course I felt that too! She checked me again and it was still too painful. So they had to readminister the epi. That too sucked! But finally it worked. The anesthesiologist said my back muscles were very strong which made for a tough placement. Finally after being numbed up, she was able to check me without issue and pull down my cervix. So finally now that my cervix was in place and the contractions were stronger, I was dilating faster.  After all this time, my epi was running out, but the OB was already on her way so we could start pushing. I pushed for about 45 mins. And every push was a struggle! It felt like I was doing a hard core workout each time.  The epi had officially wore out by the time baby was crowning.  Well needless to say I felt EVERYTHING!! From his Head coming out and all... O__O Finally my baby came out and after that, all was well again... Kinda. My OB said I had a 2nd degree tear 😢. So she sewed it up and of course I felt that too! Ugh!! But in the end, all of that pain is worth the outcome of my baby.  He weighed 8lbs 7oz and 20 in long! It was a good experience and definitely different from my first pregnancy! Both baby and I are healthy and we were discharged after his 24hr tests.
