Haha.. Read up on it.. They aren't encouraging use of the pump until your milk comes in hun.. So it's a manual job.. Which kind of feels like you're milking yourself haha but it wasn't too difficult. Just give boobs a little massage and then nipples then squeeze it out lol.. Catch it in a sterile pot and pop it in the freezer xx

Oh neither have I that's really interesting. I was only saying to my husband the other day I would like to pump a little before hand just incase it doesn't work out and baba can't latch on, I would want him to get the colostrum. Might give my pump a go... although it looks like a scary torture contraption lol! @jadejmb xx

She said it's because when you begin breastfeeding for the first 3-5 days you only produce the colostrum. It takes 3-5 days for your milk to come in properly so baby can become frustrated because he's not getting enough milk. So you can use the frozen stuff to top the baby up by defrosting and then using a syringe to give it to baby. I was really shocked by all this when she told me, I'd never heard it before lol. @lauralou1991

@carleyx I'm almost 40 weeks so he is fully developed. I wouldn't be bothered if I could carry on like normal but I'm basically bed bound and in constant pain now and starting to get down, I don't want to risk depression before he arrives x

Aww @lauralou1991 that doesn't sound fun lol! I went to a breastfeeding workshop the other day.. Midwife told us to express from 35 weeks and freeze whatever we could. So I asked about it inducing labour and she pretty much said after 37 weeks it doesn't matter if he comes early because you are full term.. So if you do become desperate I wouldn't worry too much about rushing him lol. Xx

That's the best way to be lol I'm driving myself insane, the only thing I haven't tried is nipple stimulating and I don't really want to incase he's not ready. I have midwife appointment on Monday and I'm going to ask for a sweep, I will be 40 weeks then. I wouldn't mind if I wasn't in so much pain but it's very challenging at the moment lol! Xx
