In Japan, we dont really celebrate Thanksgiving.. It's not a nationwide holiday, nor do people bring it up mostly because it's not a part of our culture. Im new to Thanksgiving. I've never celebrated it, and i think im fine with keeping that, and if my kids want to celebrate it as they get older thats fine, but i dont think I'll implement it. Tomorrow is just a normal day for me.
I love thanksgiving for the food too. I do like it for what it is meant to represent (although I know the real history behind it 😩). But it's a nice concept. One day where everyone collectively expresses their gratitude for all that they have.
Your fiancee also doesn't celebrate? Did you celebrate Japan's Thanksgiving day back home?
@mujerstillregal Thanksgiving in Japan is a thing only because we saw it in America. It's called labor thanksgiving because it's seen more as a day to honor people who work. In Japan; most japanese people do not celebrate Thanksgiving very widely. It's acknowledged but we don't celebrate it.
@mujerstillregal it's not seen as a big deal, some japanese families may do a small "special" dinner but most Japanese people across Japan don't celebrate it as an actual holiday or important day.
@michimart yeah, America has a way of setting a trend.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Science!
My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?
Starting TWW. Anyone else?
I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.

So at work we have a drink thief. Any time we put a drink in the fridge it disappears. I swear I know who it is. So far he's taken drinks from everyone that works in the office, we even put a sign to not take anything you didn't pay for and wrote our names on the drinks. The person I think is taking them works out of the office so we never get to see who is drinking them.
I’ve never really cared for thanksgiving too much. I enjoy the food but the meaning behind thanksgiving has always made my brain turn automatically to the genocide of native Americans. This year I’m gonna make some ham and stuff but I’ve never really gone out of my way for it.
